TWO WEEKS TO GO AND THERE’S MORE RUNNING TO DO!

On Sunday 20th March, I will be running the Fleet half marathon. I am a member of Team Jilly Jean, organised by my brother-in-law and his wife, who are running in memory of both their Mums to raise money for Cancer Research UK and Macmillan Cancer Support. His (and my wife, Virginia’s) mum (Jean) died from cancer and was cared for by Macmillan in the final days. Bob’s mother-in-law (Jill) also died from cancer, hence the team name and the charities we are supporting. Four of their friends have also joined the team.

I realise that increasingly we all get asked to donate money for good causes but nonetheless hope that you might be able to contribute something. I would be so grateful if you can help.

I put together this short film mainly for fun, but also to highlight what we are doing behind the scenes, just to get ourselves to the start line (let alone to the finish)! It makes it look like it’s a lot of fun (indeed there has been much WhatsApp banter so far) but also there’s been plenty of pain along the way!

Thanks very much in advance and please share with anyone you know who has been touched by cancer and who might feel our efforts are worth a pound or two in the coffers. We are aiming for £2,500 and, as of 4th March, we have reached £2,274 (91% of target).

Every little helps as they say, so if you are willing and able to donate you can find the details at Team Jilly Jean at Just Giving
